I saw a television show when I walked into my room. It was one of those TV preachers telling people about becoming a Christian and being filled witht he Holy Spirit are two separate events. Is this true? Honestly I'm not completely sure. It will take further research, but I believe that becoming a Christian and being filled with the Holy Spirit are one in the same event. You have asked Jesus to come into your life, yet the Holy Spirit is not with you. If I remember, the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. They make up what is known as the Trinity. If the Son lives in your heart, does not the Holy Spirit?

I don't understand

I don't understand why people do not get the fact that all things we do should be done for the glory of God, especially when what we are doing is praising Him and trying to bring Him glory. I know that sometimes I don't get it either (I mean, I'm not perfect) but many people just get into a routine of doing things that they are supposed to do. No one pays attention to what they are doing. When we are singing praise songs, I see people turn and start singing to each other. I don't know what they mean by this action, but regardless, we are not singing to impress the person beside us, we are not singing to try to bring glory to ourselves, and we are not singing because it is the cool thing to do. We are singing because we want to praise God. I have gotten caught up int he routine of going to church before and singing because it is the cool thing to do. It is not fun. If you are not singing to praise God, then what you are singing is meaningless. I learned this the hard way, and I am sure that many of you have to. Regardless, we are to bring glory to God through this and other actions inside and outside the church. This is a recent discovery for me. I know it is hard, but Phil. 4:13 says that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. No one is perfect. However, if you trust in God, you will make the right decisiongs, and you will bring glory to Him.

What a great day it has been! After church Sunday morning I left with a new view of what this week means. I started thinking: "Maybe it's time to look at this week for what it really is." Bro. Mark showed me that this week should be extra special. While Jesus Christ's life was a journey to the cross the whole time, this week was the beginning of the end of the long journey to the cross. This was the week when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the land of his people. They wanted freedom from the Romans, and when they realized that they weren't getting what they wanted, they wanted to crucify him. This is the week where Jesus walked into Jerusalem with one goal. He was going to the cross to die for our sins. If this week isn't special too a Christian, I don't know what would be special to you. God has allowed me to see this, and He gave me an even clearer understanding of what Easter really is. Ask yourself: "What does the week from Palm Sunday through Easter mean to me?" If the only thing you can come with is Easter being a time to get together with the family to eat and the Easter bunny coming and bringing you chocolate, then you have completely missed it. If you see this week only for the crucification and the resurrection and these are not personal to you then you are missing out. I promise that if you make this personal, that you will experience the fullness of the Easter season Without Christ, there is no Easter, not matter what anyone tells you. I am starting to understand that this week is one of the most amazing weeks. If you look at it, this week is amazing.

Aside from this being the Easter week, things are going pretty good. I'm alive after the horrible storms that hit out area. My entire family is okay as far as we know. I have family in a city right outside of Caruthersville, one of the cities in the bootheel of MIssouri that got hit pretty hard. They got hit hard too, but their house is still standing. A house a couple miles down the road from them is no more, but they are okay, and they actually called to check on us during the second round of storms because they were not hit hard by these.
